Adults 18 and over who suffer limitations from illness, accident, or birth defect may participate in the program. The goal of the program is to give respite to family caregivers while allowing participants to enjoy daytime services and activities in a secure, supervised environment. Seniors benefit by being able to remain at home with their family, instead of having to be put into a nursing home prematurely.
Edwards Adult Day Care Center began as a project of the First Presbyterian Church in Martinsville. It was moved to a modern 9,500 square foot facility in late 2005.
Medicaid, the Veterans Administration, and Long Term Insurance all cover services at the Center.
